Established since 2018 in Paris, we are a young start-up backed by a large international non-profit group. Our goal is to provide data and services to financial institutions to help them with their climate change initiatives. 

Our success has led to rapid growth with the world’s largest financial institutions including the largest European banks, ESG service providers, and the Big 4 consultancies. Indeed, this growth is only expected to accelerate with the increasing need for transparency from government and financial institutions.

Data Licensing Manager

Responsibilities

As a Data Licensing Manager, your main responsibilities will be to: 

Source the data we need to develop our products and manage our IP 

  • Lead the sourcing of data, from prospecting with the Product team, contract drafting and negotiation (commercial and legal/IP management aspects), through to implementation.
  • Streamline and standardise our data sourcing contracts with data providers.
  • Ensure long-term availability of sourced data.
  • Manage partnerships with data providers to support the development of new products.

Design and execute our data sales strategy 

  • Develop sales strategy, supported by the Business and Product teams. 
  • Monitor sales pipeline and progress to target. 
  • Establish partnerships that drive our impact, revenue and user growth through licensing of our data and services and revenue sharing agreements with our data providers.
  • Support the Business and Product teams in business development efforts (lead management, proposal preparation, contract drafting and negotiation).
  • Streamline and standardise our data sales contracts with clients. 
  • Together with the Business and Product teams, develop pricing systems for new products.

 

Qualifications

You have at least 3 years of relevant working experience (with structuring data sourcing and data sales contracts, with data and API-based partnerships and integrations, at a data provider, etc.) including successful track record as a Business Development Leader.

You have a start-up mentality, are keen to participate in the growth of our organisation and enjoy delving into the details of intellectual property (IP) protection. Knowledge of intellectual property law is required (French law preferred). Existing relationships in the business intelligence community as well as in the geospatial and/or financial data community are an advantage.

You have the ability to form partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and you are able to persevere in complex strategic deal cycles.

Furthermore, you have a passion for sustainability, and drive for a positive impact on society.

Finally, you are bilingual in English and French and you have an excellent capacity to adapt.
